Can I get paid through Deel/Upwork?

If you're a freelancer or independent contractor working with clients through platforms like Deel or Upwork, you may be wondering how to receive your payments.

Here are some frequently asked questions about getting paid through Deel/Upwork:

Q: Can I receive my payments through Bitwage if I work with clients through Deel/Upwork?

A: As of February 12, 2024, Bitwage can no longer accept USD transfers from Deel, Payoneer, or Upwork, as well marketplaces like Airbnb. This is due to limitations with our US bank. If you have the option to cash out in Euros, you can add them as a EUR employer and be paid to your own Euro account with Bitwage.

Q: How do I add Deel/Upwork as a client?

A: When adding client details you can use their headquarters as the address and support email. Keep in mind you do not have to email them the invoices you generate.

Q: How do I send funds from Deel to Bitwage?

A: When filling out payment info in Upwork:

  • Put your name as listed on Bitwage as the Beneficiary/Recipient
  • Select Checking Account as account type

Q: How does Bitwage receive my payments from Deel/Upwork?

A: When your client pays you through Deel/Upwork, Deel/Upwork will forward the payment to Bitwage on your behalf. Bitwage will then convert the payment into Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies if you choose and deposit it into your Bitwage account.
