What documents might Bitwage request from a company?

To use Bitwage, companies may need to complete KYB (Know Your Business) verification. The exact requirements vary by company type, country, and risk review, but below are the most common documents and information Bitwage may request.

Note: In some cases, Compliance may request additional information or documents (EDD – Enhanced Due Diligence). You’ll see these requests inside the platform and you’ll also be notified by email.

Common documents Bitwage may request

1) Company registration / formation documents

Used to verify the company legally exists.

  • Certificate of Incorporation / Formation

  • Business registration document (country equivalent)

  • Articles of Incorporation / Articles of Organization (if applicable)

2) Proof of company address

Used to confirm the operating/legal address.

  • Utility bill

  • Bank statement

  • Government-issued document showing the address

    (Typically recent; requirements can vary.)

3) Ownership and control information

Used to understand who owns and controls the business.

  • Beneficial owner(s) information (name, DOB, address, ownership % — as required)

  • Director/officer/authorized representative details (as required)

4) Proof of business activity (may be requested)

Used to verify what the business does and how it operates.

  • Company website and description of services

When additional documents (EDD) may be requested

Compliance may request extra items if anything needs clarification, such as:

  • Complex ownership structure

  • Certain industries or geographies

  • Inconsistencies between the application and documents

These requests will appear in-platform (often as “Action required” / “Needs info”) and you’ll get an email notification.

Tips to avoid delays

  • Ensure the company legal name/address matches your registration documents

  • Upload clear, readable documents (no cut-off edges, no glare)

  • Reply to requests directly inside the platform as soon as possible

  • If asked for business activity proof, include concise context (who you pay, where, and why)
