What information do I need before I start?

To set up Bitwage quickly and run your first payroll without delays, gather a few key details in advance. Most companies that prepare these items can complete setup and get to a first successful payment faster.

What you need for your company (admin side)

1) Company details

Have these ready when completing signup and account setup:

  • Legal company name

  • Company address

  • Company website (if applicable)

  • Tax ID / registration number (country dependent)

  • Nature of business / what your company does

2) Company verification documents (may be requested)

During review, Compliance may request documents to verify your company. Common examples include:

  • Proof of registration/incorporation

  • Company ownership/control information (if requested)

  • Supporting documents to validate business activity

In some cases, additional questions or documents may be requested (EDD). Requests will appear in the platform and you’ll be notified by email.


What you need for the people you’ll pay (Recipients)

Before inviting recipients, try to collect:

  • Full name

  • Email address (required for the invitation)

  • Country

  • Type (employee or contractor, depending on your workflow)


Tip: You can invite recipients even if you don’t have their payout details yet—recipients will add their own bank/wallet information during setup. But you do need their correct email to avoid “expired” or missed invites.

What recipients should have ready (to finish setup in ~5 minutes)

To avoid delays after you invite them, tell recipients to prepare:

  • Bank account details (for local currency payouts), or

  • Crypto wallet address + correct network (for crypto payouts), or

  • A plan for a split allocation (example: 70% bank / 30% crypto)

What you need to fund payroll

1) Funding method

Your company will need to use an available funding method (based on your account/country), such as:

  • Wire, ACH credit, or other bank transfer methods (as applicable)

2) Funding timing

Plan to send funding early. Once the payroll is funded, it can take ~24 hours for funds to arrive to Bitwage’s bank (depending on banking rails). Once funds arrive, Bitwage deposits the money the same day.

Quick pre-flight checklist (copy/paste)

Before you start:

  • Company legal name, address, registration/tax info

  • Any verification docs ready (in case Compliance requests them)

  • Recipient list (email + type)

  • Recipients informed to prepare bank details and/or wallet + network

  • Funding method confirmed + funding timing planned
