Why do I need to add a client?
By adding a client or employer, you are providing Bitwage with important information about who will be sending you payments.
This not only helps us identify your payments but also ensures that we provide you with the correct bank details for sending your funds.
It is essential to keep your client list updated to streamline the payment process and make sure you receive your funds efficiently.
Should I add the company I work for as a client or employer?
If you are contractor or freelancer you will add clients. Typically contractors send invoices and are paid on a project or hourly basis. They might also be receiving regular payments from a company based outside their country of residency.
If you are an employee you will be adding an employer. Employees are usually salaried, may have benefits, and must be located in the same country as their company.
If you are unclear about how to classify yourself please reach out to support@bitwage.com or your payer for clarification.
Can clients/employers be individuals?
No, clients must be businesses or corporate entities. We cannot receive funds from an account in an individual's name. Any funds received from personal accounts will not be processed and will be returned to the sender and incur a $20 processing fee. This policy is in place to maintain compliance with financial regulations and ensure the security of all transactions.
My client/employer's country is not on the list
If your client's country is not on the list, it could be due to restrictions on certain countries for payments. To verify this and get further assistance, please reach out to our support team at support@bitwage.com.
